Silica gel is a translucent or chalky white or yellow corn (from impurities) color, in the dried state is brittle, slightly soluble or swell in water and organic solvents. This dried gel formed from supersaturated solutions silicas. Hard hydrophilic sorbent.
The structure of the silica gel is a highly porous body formed by tiny spherical particles, it has a huge surface area, chemical composition - silicon dioxide SiO 2 (silica).
Chemical formula: xSiO 2 • nH 2 O
It is obtained by acidification of alkali metal silicate solutions, followed by washing and drying the resulting gel.

The use of silica gel.
For air drying:
